NISSAN R32 GTR SKYLINE “GODZILLA”

DESCRIPTION: This car, in my opinion, would have to be among the best R32 GTR’s in Australia.  It looks like a show car but performs like a race car.  The paintwork is sensational; very unique – one of a kind.  This car was completely built in Japan by “Macchina Magic”, a GTR specialist workshop.

 

MODIFICATIONS:

1                     The engine was completely overhauled and modified by Macchina Magic in Japan at 86,500km.  Since I purchased the car in February 2000, Unique Autosports of Castle Hill have maintained this vehicle.  They have just fitted a new oil pump, main and big end bearings and timing belt.  They have also done a compression test showing that the engine is in top condition.

2                     Fitted with twin HKS GT-2540 turbos with stainless high flow headers and dump pipes.  It is also fitted with a Blitz dual solenoid boost controller which is mounted on the steering column (currently adjustable from 0.9 bar to 1.55 bar/22psi on Shell Optimax.)

3                     Exhaust is a custom made mandrel bent 3 ½” high flow cat and resonator with a stainless rear muffler with 5” tailpipe.

4                     Injection is controlled by a custom “Macchina Magic” computer with Nismo 550cc injectors.  It is also fitted with a Nismo high flow fuel pump.  The intake manifold has been ported and polished and the engine cowling and intake manifold are both body colour-coded (purple pearl.)

5                     A carbon  fibre/fibreglass “cold air” induction system has been fitted, feeding air to two Rush filters through a GT-R N1 intercooler.

6                     A Nismo oil cooler with all braided lines is fitted on the drivers side front.  An oil breather catch tank has been fabricated and is fed through a high flow braided line.

7                     Front suspension has Nismo upper arms.  Lower control arms are fully adjustable rose jointed ARC items.  Shock and springs are adjustable coil over type by Zeal Racing.  The front stabilizer is also a fully adjustable rose jointed heavy duty item by ARC.  A Nissan strut tower brace is also fitted along with a camber adjustment kit.  The rear suspension has Nismo upper, centre and lower alloy control arms and is also fitted with Zeal shocks and springs.  A rear strut brace has also been fitted and a HKS electronic HICAS lock has been added to the steering.

8                     Brakes have APP braided lines fitted all round and the rotors are Nissan GT-R N1 items.  Competition road/race pads are fitted.  It is also fitted with an expensive quick response Nissan ABS master cylinder assembly.

9                     A trick kevlar button clutch is fitted with a high clamp load pressure plate through a TOMEI 2-way LSD.

10                 The body modifications, apart from the unique and amazing colour, are the fitment of Nismo front bumper assembly, Nismo grill and bonnet moulds and Nismo sideskirts.  ENKEI five spoke silver rims (17” x 9”) are fitted with NEW Dunlop 255/40ZR17 FM901 tyres.

11                 Interior modifications are minimal.  The car is fitted with a Carrozeria (Pioneer) stereo with a detachable face and 6 CD stacker fitted in the boot.  Upgraded speakers are by Kenwood .

12                 This vehicle is also fitted with both an alarm and two separate immobilisers (including movement sensors and audio beepers.)

 

 

 

When I purchased this vehicle from Japan I had Croydon Autosports dyno it to check its output.  Attached dyno printout: 250kw at the wheels with 22psi at 8,2000rpm.  This figure is double the power at the wheels against a standard GTR.  Jimmy of Croydon Autosports estimated that with racing fuel and increased boost it would be able to produce well in excess of 520bhp.

 

I have used this car as a daily driver since Feb 2000 and have also competed at two track days at Wakefield Park near Goulburn winning both days against many other GTRs, STI WRXs, Porsches and other exotic imports. 

 

Make no mistake, this is a very serious motorcar, race engineered with the performance, handling and looks to out-perform almost anything on the road.  It is definitely a “one-of-a-kind” vehicle and would be a huge expense for anyone to reproduce.
