NAME: TIM MASON
Tim owns a black 1995 Nissan 180SX with R33 skyline brakes, black 300ZX wheels, custom Xforce/UAS exhaust & stealthy front mount install. With some simple suspension mods it proves to be fast and fun on the racetrack - Tim has managed a a time of 1 minute 12.4 around the Wakefield Part circuit and 51.42 seconds at Oran Park South. In 06/07 the car underwent further performance mods including Tein SuperStreet coilovers, engine refresh (new rings and bearings), GT28 turbo, PWR intercooler, a bigger wheel and tyre package and a bit of weight saving. The aim is to match the old lap times with street tyres before switching to semi slicks. With 180RWKW the best time acheived with this set up on used semi slicks was 1 minute 10.5 at Wakefield. For 2008 the latest developments have seen the addition of a Nistune programable ECU, S15 injectors, Z32 AFM and more boost for 199RWKW. Traction has been improved with the addition of a Cusco 1 way LSD. With a couple more chassis tweaks and new tyres Tim will be aiming for 1 minute 9's next time out.
